with Vanessa Ash & Associates
Civil Law description
Civil law can mean many things, but typically means breaches of our rights and responsibilities toward one another in a civil society. It is not regulated by the police, but by other regulatory bodies.
You can be sued under civil law (or sue someone else), and get ‘damages’ if someone does something wrong to you, or vice versa. Civil law can include damage to property, injuries to someone else from wrongdoing, or breach of contract.
